Fall term (September to December), Spring term (January to May) and\u00a0summer term (May to August) each offered in two 7-week (Part I, Part II)\u00a0blocks to allow the flexibility of elective curriculum choice.\u00a0Each week students attend 18 hours of classes.\u00a0This allows flexibility in terms of admissions, course offerings and, what is most important, allows to adjust the length of the program to national standards and norms of the Intensive English Programs field.<\/p><p>The intensive program has\u00a0seven levels of proficiency from Low Beginning to Advanced Intermediate. To preserve the sequential unanimity of the Program main levels 1-6, their syllabus is designed to incorporate similar courses (Conversation, Grammar, American Culture). Now the Program also includes optional pre-Advanced level 7 with several content-based courses and a 2-term TOEFL preparation course that includes development of academic vocabulary.<\/p><p>Entering students take English proficiency <strong>placement test<\/strong>. Students are placed into classes based on placement test scores.<\/p><p>Maximum Number of Students per Lecture: 15-20 students<br \/>Maximum Student to Teacher Ratio: 15-20 students for every instructor<br \/>Type of Credential: Students have the option of exiting the program with a Certificate of Completion at Program or Level graduation; Certificate of Attendance at early withdrawal.<\/p><p>Core IEP courses <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Low Beginners (ESL 101)<\/li><li>Beginners (ESL 102)<\/li><li>High Beginners (ESL 103)<\/li><li>Low Intermediate (ESL 201)<\/li><li>Intermediate (ESL 202)<\/li><li>Advanced Intermediate (ESL 203)<\/li><\/ul><p>Optional IEP Courses<\/p><ul><li>Advancing Clear Communication (Pre-Advanced)<\/li><li>American Way of Life &amp; Culture (Pre-Advanced)<\/li><li>Business Result (Pre-Advanced)<\/li><li>English for Academic Purposes (Pre-Advanced)<\/li><li>TOEFL iBT Prep &amp; Pre-Advanced Academic Vocabulary, Parts I &amp; II<\/li><li>Pronunciation<\/li><li>Grammar Basics<\/li><li>Developing Academic vocabulary<\/li><\/ul><p>Applicants can enter the program at one of the 7 currently offered English proficiency levels.<br \/>Advanced Intermediate is considered a graduating level. Taking levels 101-203 consecutively a student will take\u00a0<strong>2 years to graduate<\/strong>.
